Marathwada Mukti Din (also known as Marathwada Liberation Day or Marathwada Mukti Sangram Din) is celebrated every year on September 17.
It marks the historical liberation of the Marathwada region from the rule of the Nizam of Hyderabad in 1948, integrating it into the Indian Union 13 months after India achieved independence.
