Maharani Tarabai Punyatithi is observed every year on 9 December in memory of Tarabai, one of the greatest women leaders in Indian history. After the death of her husband, Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj, she led the Maratha Empire with remarkable courage and successfully resisted Mughal forces under Aurangzeb.
