Lokshahi Din (Democracy Day) in Maharashtra is a public grievance redressal initiative introduced by the Government of Maharashtra in December 1999. It provides citizens with a transparent, face-to-face forum to resolve pending administrative issues directly with senior government officials.
On a global scale, International Day of Democracy is observed annually on September 15 following a United Nations resolution in 2007.
