Ashadhi Ekadashi (also known as Devshayani Ekadashi or Maha Ekadashi) is one of the most sacred festivals in Maharashtra and is dedicated to Vithoba (Lord Vitthal), the presiding deity of Shri Vitthal-Rukmini Temple. It falls on the Ekadashi (11th day) of the Shukla Paksha in the Ashadha month and marks the culmination of the famous Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage.
